Celandine extract contains alkaloids (especially chelidonine, chelidoxanthin, sanquinarine). Chelidonine is the main active substance in Celandine. In traditional medicine, the extract is particularly for removing warts; as a dry, powder drug for chronic eczema and psoriasis, though. Nowadays, it has been used, for example, as a compound for dandruff, removing the dandruff.
The extract from the non-wooden parts of Northern white-cedar branches is full of monoterpenes (especially thujone, isothujone, fenchone, sabinene and alpha-pinene). These substances reduce the production of oil secretion (they are characterized by, so called, anti-seborrheic effect). Additionally, they are also appreciated for their toning and soothing effect.
